Each tablet contains:
Phenobarbital 100mg

Each teaspoon (5mL) Contains:
Phenobarbital 20mg

Indications for use:
- Anesthetic adjuvant: Phenobarbital (parenteral) is indicated as a preoperative medication to reduce anxiety and facilitate induction of anesthesia.
- Treatment of tonic-clonic epileptic crisis or simple partial epileptic crisis.
-Treatment of convulsions and status epilepticus.
-Prophylaxis and treatment of convulsive crisis.
- Adjuvant on Tetanus treatment
- Phenobarbital (oral and parenteral) is used in the prevention and treatment of hyperbilirubinemia in neonates. It is also used to reduce bilirubin levels in patients with congenital nonhemolytic unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia or chronic intrahepatic cholestasis.
- Phenobarbital has been used for short-term treatment of insomnia, however, it have generally been replaced by benzodiazepines.

Dosage:
Regular for Adults:
Anticonvulsant: Oral, 60 to 250mg (base) per day as single dose or in divided doses.
Sedative - hypnotic:
Hypnotic: Oral, 100 to 320mg (base) at bedtime.
Sedative: Daytime: Oral, 30 to 60 mg (base) divided into two or three times daily.

Antihyper Bilirubinemia: Oral, 30 to 60mg (base) three times a day.

Note: Geriatric and weakened patients may react with excitement, confusion or mental depression to usual doses. In these patients, lower doses may be needed.
Usual pediatric dose:

Anticolvulsant: Oral, 1 to 6mg (base) per kg of body weight per day as single dose or in divided doses.
Sedative - hypnotic:
Hypnotic: Dosage must be individualized by the physician.
Sedative: Daytime: Oral, 2mg (base) per kg of body weight or 60mg per square meter of body surface three times a day.
Preoperative: Oral, 1 to 3 mg (base) per kg of body weight.

Antihyper Bilirubinemia:
Neonates: Oral, 5 to 10mg (base) per kg of body weight per day during the first days after birth.
Children under 12 years: Oral, 1 to 4mg (base) per kg of body weight three times a day.

Action: Sedative, Hypnotic, Anticonvulsant, Antihyper Bilirubinemia.
